What is the registration cost?

I want to bring my children and their friends. Do children have to register too?
Children age 6 and under do not have to register and can participate for free.
How do I get my school drumline or drum corps involved in the Drum Run?
Please contact the Race Director Herman Mannings III or 470-444-9844 or firstname.lastname@example.org to register your drumline. Each drumline will become a beneficiary of the race and receive a donation to their respective booster club.
Where do I park?
There is plenty of street parking around the Civil Rights District. In addition there will be some first come, first serve parking lots (LOOK FOR THE SIGNS).
Where do I get my race number?
Packet Pick up date Friday, January 13, 2017, 11AM-6PM at the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute. The address is 520 16th Street North, Birmingham AL 35203. Please enter through the doors on the 6th Ave N. entrance.
You can also pick up your number on race day Saturday, January 14, 2017, beginning at 7 am.
Is there a shirt, what is it?
Yes, registered participants will receive a shirt on race day. It is a blended cotton, super soft, short sleeve t-shirt.
Is there race day registration?
Yes, race day registration begins at 7:00 am and closes at 7:45 am. It costs $35. Online registration will end at midnight on Wednesday, January 11, 2017, at Midnight!
I don’t see my name listed on the Entry List. Why? What to do?
The mail-in registrations must be inputted manually, so they don’t appear immediately as do the online registrations. We will update each night.
I don’t see the “TEAM” I’m with listed on the Entry List page. Why? What to do?
If you didn’t select your “TEAM” name (beneficiary) on the active registration, please let us know, so we make sure your funds go to the appropriate organization. Please email email@example.com and tell us your name and organization and we will change it.
Is it family friendly?
Yes, this event is a family friendly event and open to all ages. We will have family friendly music, sponsors booths, activities and drummers from area high schools.
What does the race benefit?
The MLK Day 5K Drum Run will benefit the approved Teams/Beneficiaries (Birmingham area schools, churches, community organizations and businesses). Many Teams/Beneficiaries are using the MLK Day 5K Drum Run as a fundraiser for their community-oriented initiatives. $5 of each registration will go to the “team” you choose when you register. In other words, if 100 people register under Team X, we will send a check for $500 to Team X’s organization. See the full list of beneficiaries on www.mlkday5kbham.com.
